Blitz’s Market was named after founder Tony Bilazzo, whose football nickname was “Blitz.” Today, it’s the Newman family that’s wearing the apron so to speak, making the sandwiches hungry beach goers have been counting on for decades. One of the best parts about life in OC is knowing Blitz’s deli and grill is open daily, so a hoagie is never that far away.
On the menu, there’s cold and hot sandwiches including the Big Z – eggs paired with breakfast meat topped with melted American cheese and crispy hash browns, and the Big Blitz Special, your choice of corned beef, roasted turkey, or roast beef served with Swiss, coleslaw, and Russian dressing on rye. Try the Summer Glow and Jersey Fresh Buddha Bowls. They each start with a mix of romaine and kale, grilled chicken, and quinoa. Then the Summer Glow is topped with avocado, blueberries, red onion, feta, and sunflower seeds covered in raspberry vinaigrette. The Jersey Fresh has blueberries, mandarin oranges, dried cranberries, feta, and almonds with balsamic vinaigrette.
If you’re saying no to carbs but are hungry for a filling meal – Blitz’s has the pickle sandwich, a hoagie made with an entire pickle instead of bread. They also have lettuce wraps, traditional wraps, and gluten-free options.
Blitz’s sells a variety of local products like Hank Sauce, Polish Water Ice, and Shriver’s taffy.
