The Sunday of Summer is Here – Happy August issue!

Ocean City Magazine August 2024

When August begins, we’re officially summer experts. Our summer feet can go barefoot across the Boardwalk, stone driveways, broken shells… we know what time to get our fave donuts (and where to park), book lists are crossed off, tan lines are stronger than any sunscreen, beach friends have been made.
Thankfully, August has 31 days to use this knowledge and training before the crisper, shorter days are upon us. There is still plenty of summer to go around and here at OC Mag, we take summer very seriously. We’re experts after all 😉
This got me thinking of the Mount Rushmore game where you name your top four things in a particular category. If we had to name four top summer experiences at the shore… what would I pick?

My Mount Rushmore is boogie boarding, watching the sun rise on the beach, July 4 beach day and night, and going to concerts. So what’s yours? Send me a line at [email protected] or visit our socials and let me know your Mount Rushmore of summer at the Jersey Shore.
There is so much to see and do all over the island and this mag that you’re holding will help guide you or turn you on to new places to eat, shop, stay, and play, and give you the stories behind them.
This month in Ocean City Magazine, we’re spreading the word about summer safety. Even professionals need continuing training, so flip to page 52 for important tips on staying safe while having fun.
We also take our pizza seriously around here and same goes for the Snodgrass family, who created and executed an entire pizza challenge along the boards. See their slice of life on page 48.
Who likes free fun? If you’re currently raising your hand like that wee emoji, flip to Kristen Dowd’s article on page 44 for ways to fill your OC days with no cost activities for the whole family.
Finally, our own fishing expert Brandon Smith, who is also a police officer, and owns Flood Tide Media, is our newest roving photographer, out on the streets to document life in OC in the Snapshots column. See his shots on page 18.
From recipes, pictures, features, and games, to guides on where to eat, shop, stay, play and more, it’s all inside these lovely pages. See you on the beach!
