Beach readers unite! Ocean City Magazine June issue is here

Did you know the month of June was named after Juno, the Roman goddess of love and marriage?
She’s also the queen of the gods and is associated with vital energy and eternal youth, too, cementing her influence over the sixth month. Thousands of years later, it’s still holding strong.
It’s hard to deny the youthful energy June ushers in. The official summer season begins, the weather is sweet, schools are on summer break, and in OCNJ and its surrounding area, businesses are open for the season, and the ocean is warming up.
June is perfect for getting out there and exploring, enjoying the early sun rises, and late sunsets. We’ve been working up to this month since December, after all. Each day getting a wee bit longer, inching up the clocks ‘til its peak on the summer solstice where it holds steady then begins its descent back.
June is our 92nd issue and we’re still all about celebrating Ocean City, its people and places and neighbors. This month, we deep dive into a couple very familiar organizations on the island – the Life Saving Station and the Humane Society. We also go In the Kitchen with one of OC’s newest restaurants, The Grubb. Opened in May by Jon Grubb, the 34th Street eatery takes the place of the former Old School Burgers.
Also this month, we spotlight Bridget Jacobson in our Meet Your Neighbor column. Chances are you’ve seen Bridget and her husband Brad at one of the many retail locations they run under the Stainton’s umbrella. Bridget and Brad are seemingly always bringing new shopping experiences to the island but it’s their continuous charitable contributions that we’re spotlighting this time. And rightfully so. Read it on page 26.
I hope you enjoy everything packed inside these pages. There are loads of little tidbits, tons of topics, and so much more entertainment and inspiration inside – a nod to all the magazines I read growing up. For me, they were an escape, a source of joy that could be picked up anytime, exactly where you left off.
Cheers to a summer of fun!
