LOCAL Gym and Fitness became the reality of four local friends who shared a passion for fitness and working out. Owners Fritz Hastings, Mark Impagliazzio, Russell Snow, and Patrick Carr have long been in the fitness industry. They joined together in 2011 to open Local at 908 Asbury Avenue in the Downtown.

Local is a traditional gym (in an industrial setting) with big back doors that open up to the back alley. Inside the cavernous space you’ll find cardio machines including Matrix treadmills, Octane and True Ellipticals, Star Trac exercise bikes, Cybex Arc Crosstrainers, and Jacobs Ladders. Strength equipment includes Hammer Strength, light/heavy dumbbells, Matrix 7 Cable Crossovers, Rogue Bumper Plates/Bars, TRX Suspension, heavy bags, Bosu Balance, resistance bands, heavy duty training ropes, free weights, and four lifting platforms. Rogue fitness equipment and workout accessories include jumping boxes (adjustable and foam), medicine and slam balls, large assortment of bands, trap bars, Olympic WL Bars, multi grip bars, MG-3 multi grip bars, dumbbell sets, competition kettlebells, bumper plates and Abram Glute Ham Developers.

Local’s trainers are experts in all facets of strength and fitness. Daily, weekly, and monthly passes available.
