Great Egg Hunt in Ocean City, NJ

Weather Updates for Ocean City’s Great Egg Hunt, Doo Dah Parade, Easter Bunny

Due to the potential for rain, wind and chilly weather, spring events like the Great Egg Hunt on the Ocean City Boardwalk will be postponed until Sunday, April 13. It had originally been scheduled for Saturday.

More than 50 merchants will invite children up to age 7 to visit stores with their families to collect eggs filled with toys, treats and prizes from 1pm to 3pm or while supplies last. Flyers will direct families to participating stores to collect eggs trick-or-treat-style. This spring event is an annual favorite.

A second Great Egg Hunt is scheduled for April 19 with a rain date of April 20. More information is available on Facebook (@ocnjboardwalk) or Instagram (@oc_njboardwalk).

The annual Doo Dah Parade will go off rain or shine at noon Saturday, April 12 with former Phillies pitcher Tommy Greene as grand marshal. This is one of OC’s most beloved spring events.

The Doo Dah Parade is Ocean City’s season-opening celebration of all things humorous. The procession features marching bands, floats and a brigade of hundreds of basset hounds. The route starts at Sixth Street and travels downtown Asbury Avenue to 12th Street, then turns to the Boardwalk at 12th Street and finishes on the boardwalk at Sixth Street.

Greene will be available for free autographs and pictures at the Ocean City Music Pier for an hour after the parade.

The Easter Bunny will be in town to visit with children 9am to noon Saturday, April 12, at Mark Soifer Park at the corner of Ninth Street and Asbury Avenue. Families will be able to take photos with the Easter Bunny in an Ocean City Beach Patrol lifeguard boat at the park.

If it rains on Saturday morning, the event will move indoors across the street at the City Hall Welcome Center.

The Easter Bunny will return to Mark Soifer Park from 9am to noon on Sunday, April 13, and Saturday, April 26.
