Ashley on Asbury – May Brings Fresh Energy to Asbury Avenue
IT’S FINALLY SPRING ON ASBURY AVENUE!
That means only one thing, new stores and experiences coming to the
Downtown. As I am sure you’ve noticed, the block between 6th and
7th Street has been the new up and coming block for a few years.
We’ve had so many new and wonderful businesses come to Asbury.
Over the winter, through my shop window I watched as old signs
came down and paper covered shop windows. The anticipation
building like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. If you spend time
on the Boardwalk, as I’m sure you have, you likely know and love
Payton Jewelry. The bright, clean shop is filled with cute jewelry and
accessories. You can find the cutest accents for any outfit.
On top of beautiful sterling silver and gold hand crafted pieces, they
offer perfectly fit permanent jewelry pieces. Payton’s aesthetic is bright
and clean with a bit of a coastal cowboy feel.
With more space here on the Avenue, Payton’s expanded from
jewelry to cool accessories and bags as well. You can find the cutest
cowboy boots, and boho purses to complete any outfit you may
be saving for your summer events coming up. Stop over to Payton
Jewelry the next time you are on Asbury.
Another new shop is Golden Hour. This renovation has had me on
the edge of my seat. Though we lost a cute little gift shop at the end
of last year, we were lucky enough to have a cute pop up for kids that
was a huge success. So, when they closed up and the store front sat
empty for the first half of the winter all we could do was speculate
about what was next.
Golden Hour was kept under secrecy as they came in and renovated
their space. We saw all sorts of contractors and delivery people stop
by. The anticipation of what was coming was building and building.
This place is going to be something truly special. They are going
to specialize in really cool gifts and home furnishings. This space is
cozy and inviting even before you step inside. Golden Hour has this
feel of stepping into your best friend’s beach retreat. They have the
cutest sitting area when you first walk in. From there the space slowly
draws you around the room to unique greeting cards, tea towels and
other sundries. Accents of soft pink and cream fill the space. They’ve
had beautiful custom cabinets put in to help add depth and interest
through the space.
Lastly, but certainly not least coming to the 6th Street block is
a cool new Pilates studio. Salt Core Pilates & Wellness is coming
Downtown. They built quite the excitement around here. The space
is beautiful and modern with a clean high-end feel. They will be
offering a range of Pilates classes, and a little bird told me they will
even be offering a few yoga classes as well. The mirrors that line the
walls are back lit, so it’s not overly intrusive while you try to get your
sweat on. If you haven’t already gotten connected with them on social
media, make sure you do, so you can see their schedule of offerings
and the long-awaited grand opening. I encourage you to take
advantage of the beautiful weather this spring and come Downtown
and check everything out.
